For Yudha, the sky was never some out-of-reach concept. It was his backyard playground. Growing up in Indonesia, he wasn’t the type of kid to spend his afternoons glued to a screen. Instead, you could usually find him sprinting through open fields and weaving around neighborhood blocks, eyes glued to the clouds. Armed with radio-controlled planes, toy helicopters, and colorful kites, he spent hours figuring out how things flew, totally hooked on the mechanics of flight and the sheer freedom of the open sky. That childhood obsession wasn't just a passing phase. It ended up being the perfect blueprint for a career in aviation.
Today, that same sense of adventure drives his work as the Operations Coordinator at Santai Seaplane. Before diving into the exciting world of seaplanes, Yudha cut his teeth in the high-stakes arena of VIP corporate aviation. He handled ground operations for elite private jets like the Gulfstream G280 and managed complex logistics for major aviation players. It was a fast-paced environment where precision was key, and Yudha excelled at keeping everything running smoothly. Eventually, he found himself looking for a new challenge. He wanted to channel that valuable experience into something that would completely change the game for Indonesian tourism, helping shift the industry toward high-end, unforgettable travel experiences.
At Santai Seaplane, Yudha has traded standard asphalt runways for the scenic, crystal-blue waters of the Indonesian archipelago. His day-to-day role is a masterclass in modern aviation logistics. To make life easier for the commercial teams, he built an automated calculator from scratch to streamline landing requests and improve response times. But his job is about way more than just numbers. Yudha is the expert who scouts and studies potential water landing sites, his research ensures every new destination is fully prepared for operations. Unlike flying into a regular airport, managing a seaplane means tracking tidal patterns, checking water depths, and making sure everything is perfectly safe before a plane ever touches down.

This role also puts Yudha right at the center of an exciting web of stakeholders. On any given day, he is touching base with aviation authorities, partnering with luxury resorts, and working alongside local governments to secure essential permits. While navigating the legal framework for protected marine conservation zones requires careful attention, building these relationships and creating a clear path for seamless travel is exactly what he enjoys most about the job.
For Yudha, the environmental side of the business is close to his heart. He genuinely believes seaplanes are the smartest, most eco-friendly way to open up Indonesia’s hidden paradise islands. Traditional luxury travel usually relies on massive yachts, which can disrupt the water and cause pollution that impacts fragile coral reefs and marine life. Seaplanes, on the other hand, leave an incredibly light footprint. They get guests to their destinations in a fraction of the time while keeping the pristine ecosystems completely untouched.
Looking down the road, Yudha has wonderful plans with Santai Seaplane. Over the next five to ten years, he looks forward to seeing the company become the premier travel operator in the region, opening up untouched routes across Eastern Indonesia, including beautiful places like Makassar and Raja Ampat. It is an inspiring goal, and Yudha takes every new venture in stride. His golden rule for operations is simple: expect the unexpected. By keeping a cool head, staying highly adaptable, and always having plans A through Z ready to roll, Yudha is helping guide Santai Seaplane into a bright new era of sustainable luxury travel.
