Pattimura International Airport
Pattimura International Airport serves Ambon, the capital of Maluku Province — Indonesia's legendary Spice Islands. Located on Ambon Island approximately 15 kilometres east of the city, the airport was fully upgraded with a new terminal in 2020. Named after local hero Thomas Matulessy known as Pattimura, the airport handles both domestic and limited international traffic. It is the primary entry point for travellers heading to the Banda Islands, the Lease Islands, and the broader Maluku archipelago. Charter helicopter services to Bandanaira in the Banda Islands depart from the general aviation apron.
