Adisucipto International Airport

Adisucipto International Airport serves Yogyakarta — Java's cultural capital and Indonesia's most historically rich city. Located approximately 6 kilometres east of the city centre, the airport handles a mix of commercial and charter traffic connecting Yogyakarta to Bali, Jakarta, and other domestic routes. A newer and larger airport — Yogyakarta International Airport — has been opened in Kulon Progo to the west, though Adisucipto continues to serve general aviation and charter flights. The airport is the ideal arrival point for visits to Borobudur, Prambanan, the Kraton Sultan's Palace, and Merapi volcano.
